Creatively Plan

My creativity manifesto 📣

“Creativity is thinking outside the box we are assigned. It is the act of imagining a different future, solution, or way of being.”

How I define creativity

Changing the world doesn’t just happen.

It requires creativity and planning.

Me in my studio.

I worked as a social change agent and project manager for 20 years before becoming a creative entrepreneur.

During that time, I crafted sustainability plans, wrote policies that protected the environment and advanced equity (DEI), and built teams to lead implementation of this good work inside large organizations.

In my primary role was as a project manager, I developed a passion for what I now call creative planning. I got really good at helping teams identify their goal, figure out how to get there, and craft plans to make it happen.

I learned that good planning requires a lot of creativity and imagination. To do it well, we need to imagine a different future, then work backwards to identify all the steps necessary to get there.

I am convinced that creativity is also required for imagining a more just and equitable world.  When we reimagine life as more easeful, more prosperous, more just - for ourselves and for others - we are engaging in the act of creativity.

I am sharing this vision with you because the world needs our creative vision, and that requires a little planning.
