The tri-leaf trillium (Trillium grandiflorum) is native to wild lands, and I observed this one on the Western slopes of Mt. Hood in Oregon. It’s known for its single flower that appears in spring. After the bloom dies, the leaves remain, lovely in their own right. I sketched this particular trillium on a hot day in June, when the shade from nearby Doug Fir trees kept me - and the trillium - cool. This illustration was created by hand with ink and watercolor, and includes my own calligraphy hand-lettering.
Available as an art print in two sizes, ready to frame.
