Color Theory for Creative Practice

✨ NEW WORKSHOP ✨

Hosted by Oregon Art Center

Color can completely change the mood, meaning, and feeling of a piece of art. In this full-day studio workshop, we’ll take the mystery out of color theory and explore simple, practical ways to use color with more confidence. Using watercolor, we’ll learn how colors relate to one another, how they can create harmony or contrast, and how your color choices can help express emotion, atmosphere, and personal style.

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how color works, a set of hand-painted color studies for future reference, and practical tools you can bring into your own creative practice.

Open to all skill levels. Useful for watercolor painters and artists working in any medium.
