Create Your Own Illustrated Travel Journal - on the Oregon Coast!

  • Sitka Center for Art and Ecology 56605 Sitka Drive Otis, OR, 97368 United States (map)

Tired of journaling? Try Illustrated Journaling instead!

Whether your travels take you abroad, to the park or just to your backyard, this workshop is for you! Learn how to create illustrated journals of the things you see, taste and experience.

Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, the host for this popular workshop, will serve as both inspiration and laboratory for sketching from real life. Participants will learn how to scan their recent memory for experiences to sketch, how to sketch common shapes, objects and textures for their sketches and different ways to organize their illustrated journal in their sketchbook, including sample layouts from the instructor.

Additionally, you will develop techniques for pencil sketching and inking your drawings, how to quickly paint illustrations with watercolor and how to annotate your sketchbook with descriptions, dates, banners or other notes that are important to you.
