Art Workshops &
Classes for Adults

Develop your creative voice.

A group of art class participants in Portland, Oregon, hold up their illustrated journals from a workshop with Molly Chidsey.

Is this you?

  • Feeling creative, but not sure where to begin?

  • Want to make art, but wish you had more skills and confidence?

  • Finally have time for yourself and your creativity, but need a little guidance to get started?

You're in the right place!

I started teaching art because I wanted to offer the kind of welcoming, supportive learning experience I couldn't find when I began my own creative practice in my late 40s.

Today, I teach beginner-friendly drawing, watercolor, illustration, and modern calligraphy classes for adults throughout the Portland, Oregon region, including Beaverton, Hillsboro, Clackamas, and Hood River. My workshops combine practical skills, creative exploration, and plenty of encouragement to help you build confidence—without losing the joy.

Let's make more art—together! 🎨

Feedback from workshop students and hosts

“ Thank you for making art simple and accessible.”

“ Molly’s teaching techniques were the best I’ve ever experienced.”

- Workshop participants

“Molly’s workshop was incredible! She was so patient with everyone and welcoming to participants of all skill levels. She kindly answered every question and took the time to provide individual feedback on each person’s work. She is incredibly thoughtful and detail-oriented, and it was clear how much care and dedication she put into preparing the class and materials. She even brought her own speaker and music to help us focus during the creative process. Everyone was so happy with the experience, and we all wished we could have had more time with her. We would absolutely love to take another workshop with Molly!”
